Tucked away in the trees just a short drive from the town of Sandspit, is Copper Bay Lodge Bed and Breakfast. Your oasis of tranquility. Here you are far enough from the town to feel as though you are completely isolated from civilization, yet close enough to make use of the all amenities there. There is a golf course nearby; a grocery store with sales of beer, wine and spirits; a library (although the lodge has a wide selection of books to choose from) and a myriad of other sundries to prepare you for your stay on Moresby Island.

Once you arrive at Copper Bay Lodge (whether you have your own vehicle or make use of our shuttle service to and from town) you can leave all your worries and cares behind you. Here your host(s) will assist you in any planning and or arrangements you may need during your visit to Haida Gwaii. But beware, once at Copper Bay Lodge, you may not want to leave. Upon arrival you will be instantly aware of your solitude. With no highway between you and the ocean, your view is matched only by the sounds of the tides.

A secluded beach awaits you with much to explore. We boast the best tidal pools which are home to starfish, sunfish, hermit crabs, and seashells ranging from red turbans to cockles to moon snails and more. Low tide provides you with a beautiful sand beach. Dig for clams, build a sandcastle, or just bask in the sun as bald eagles soar silently overhead. And there's no need to venture out for meals. At Copper Bay Lodge you have access to your own personal chef.

Ask for a picnic lunch if you are heading out or dine at the lodge. And be sure to make arrangements for dinner. With options of candlelit meals inside or dinner at the beach, your senses will be dazzled by both the surroundings and the food. In the evening, cozy up by the wood stove in the guest quarters with a book. Or plan for your next day's adventures while listening to music on the stereo. Feel free to plug in your ipod or mp3 player or peruse our selection of records for that nostalgic feeling. Or if you prefer just simply listen to the sounds of the waves lapping in your backyard.

As at any good b&b, the morning greets you with a hot breakfast, served to you at your convenience. There is nothing better than the eastern view over the Hecate Straight at sunrise while sipping on hot coffee and awaiting yet another fantastic meal. The chef is very open to peoples preferences and is more than happy to accommodate with dietary needs and allergies. At Copper Bay Lodge B&B, we strive to be everything you could want from any accommodation. Not only in Haida Gwaii, but in the world. And although we are sure you will venture out to explore all there is to see and do here in the Galapagos of the North, we would like to make your departure from us a bit hard to do. And your return, a certainty.
