Without question, Frontier Farwest’s guide’s and client’s favorite floats, have been on the most remote and in accessible stretches of the Bulkley. This is why FFW is proud to offer fishermen a new package allowing access to the only two overnight camps available to anglers on the entire Bulkley River!
These 4 day float trips include some of the best and most exciting British Columbia steelehad fishing and other fishing designed specifically for anglers choosing to leave all the creature comforts of the lodge behind, and experience a true British Columbian wilderness Steelheading experience. You can fish as many hours a day as you like.
The 4 day trip consists of floating two separate canyons on the Bulkley River. These are each 2 day (1 night) float trips. In between the float trips we will put you up at a Smithers hotel. This allows you to regroup after the first 2 days, have a hot shower and clean clothes. The next morning you will be off at first light for your next 2 day adventure.
The Bulkley is well known for its long sweeping runs, warm water temp, and incredibly abundant insect life which make it the undisputable best dry fly steelhead river to go on British Columbia steelhead fishing trips. These overnight float trips will put you on some of the very best water the Bulkley has to offer, and you will have it all by yourself.
Our float trips are designed to provide you with a quality experience from start to finish while salmon fishing British Columbia waters.
We use state of the art fiberglass drift boats & rafts, canvas wall tents, and camp equipment. The meals provided on the river are delicious, hearty and filling.
The camps have been strategically located on magnificent stretches of water, that give anglers the chance to fish as late into the evening or as early as they care to start in the morning. Your fishing will never be cut off like at many lodges.
Clients must plan on arriving in Smithers the night before the scheduled departure dates and stay at one of our recommended destinations. A sample itinerary is as follows
Day 1 At approximately 7 am you will be picked up at your hotel by your scheduled Guide, and depart for the boat launch. Following a short drive, timely unloading of the drift boat, and loading of your gear, your Bulkey River British Columbia steelhead fishing adventure begins!
The 1st day will be spent floating and fishing and landing steelhead, on your way down to the 1st camp.
Lunch will be served on the River after a morning experiencing the best British Columbia steelhead fishing.
Clients arrive in camp around 6:30 pm which provides time to settle in and unwind a bit over appetizers, while your guide prepares a delicious streamside dinner.
Clients spend the night in comfortable camps consisting of heated canvas wall tents built on sturdy wooden frames. Camps consist of one dining tent and 2 guest tents which are equipped with comfortable mattresses bedding and heat. While there is no shower facility in camp you will be retuning to town on the second night to regrouping for the next outing is a piece of cake.
Your Guide will prepare a hearty filling Breakfast at 7:30 am and the days fishing will commence there after.
Will be spent floating and fishing your way down yet another beautiful stretch of the Bulkley to the chosen taken out location for the best British Columbia steelhead fishing.
Typically we arrive at around 6:30 PM. Load up and drop you off at your hotel in plenty of time to enjoy dinner in town.
Again you will be picked up at your hotel at 7:30 and taken back out to the river to begin a brand new 2 day journey down another magnificent stretch of the Bulkley arriving in your next over night camp.
Floating and fishing your way from camp to the take out, where you will then load up, and be taken back to your hotel in plenty of time to enjoy a another nice meal at one of the great restaurants in town.
If you are interested in adding additional guided days to British Columbia steelhead fishing trip, you may do so depending on the availability of guides. Arrangements for this service must be made at the time you place your reservation.
Included: 4 days of fully guided fishing, transportation from your hotel to the river, meals, 2 nights accommodation in camp, all meals & snacks and one nights accommodation in town on night # 2 of your trip.
Not Included : Lodging on first and last night in Smithers, meals while staying in Smithers, fishing licenses, alcohol, gratuities.
It is recommended that you purchase your fishing licenses and alcohol the afternoon you
arrive in Smithers.
