Ray Makowichuk

Ray is a true legend in the Bulkley Valley and all the staff and guides at Frontier Farwest revere his accomplishments over his 40 year career guiding on the Morice River.  Ever since Ray started fishing on the Morice, he preached catch and release fly fishing for steelhead.  He was a pioneer and a man far beyond his years.  His passion for fly tying has made him very well known as he is the creator of many famous patterns.  Ray is an expert in the art of taking steelhead on dry flies.  He has probably tailed more steelhead caught on dries than anyone else in the world.  A legend, a gentleman, and one of the finest guides in the Bulkley Valley, a day spent on the water with Ray is always memorable.
