Frontier Farwest Lodge

What truly sets Frontier Far West Lodge apart from all other operations are the overnight float trips we offer. Frontier Farwest has the only two river camps on the entire Bulkley River.  We have access to water that very few people ever fish.    

The camps are equipped with very comfortable, heated, canvas, wall-style, tents raised on wooden decks.   They are located at approximately the mid-point of two spectacular 20-plus mile float trips.   These float trips are optional but come highly recommended.  You and your guide will have many miles of river all to yourselves.

Each camp was strategically built on exceptional steelhead water, giving you the freedom to fish as  late into evening as you like. There is nothing better than waking up on the river's edge at first light to witness the steam rising from a classic steelhead run and knowing that the first fly those beautiful creatures will see is yours.

All of Frontier Far West’s guided trips are conducted with high-sided, dory style drift boats and rafts, which offer anglers peaceful access to the river's very best runs, riffles, and tail outs.  This is truly a wilderness experience. The quiet stroke of the oars allow you to drift near wildlife unnoticed.

Prepare to see  moose, deer, bears and occasionally wolves. Large birds of prey scour the river for food during steelhead season.  We have seen Peregrine Falcons, Golden Eagles, Great Gray Owls, osprey, and countless bald eagles.  These float trips are a photographers dream and a fisherman’s paradise.
